oh this is pain i visit with it every day it has a face it has a name it takes the shape of the place where the last standing traces remain he got all different in the end became concerned with strange things like money he owed the government started drinking at home alone every night waking up in the morning on the kitchen floor feeling like he's been in a fight but he'd been home alone all night i've made a place for you wind over the mountain scatter it around over the place you used to play when you were a little kid it's hard to imagine that now and they gathered together recited the words just the way you laid it down 'relinquished you to the air until you're everywhere' you've become a part of this rocky ground and i've made a place for you indie rock house falling down built up on a shaky foundation wood laid right on top of the ground and it's so hard to even have an idea on this impossible, impossible town gotta drag it all up from the very, very bottom then watch as it gets pulled all the way back down and i don't want to think about everything that's happened i don;t want to wonder about what's gonna come i don't want to think about nothing i'm just gonna sit here in the dark and beat on my stupid drum and i've made a place for you

orphans 04:21
dee married ray on a cold february day the sky was pissing rain and the city was grey they stood hand in hand in the eyes of the law and made their vow and then they ran away took a long long ride on a train oh we can keep it together and we'll keep on trying cuz we're here for laughing we're not here for crying and now we're not orphans anymore baby you're alway in my head and every night we'll go to bed living low down in the part of the city where it's all run down and nobody cares barely enough for getting by even when the welfare cheque is on time somebody's baby's crying in the room down the hall she's staring out the window at that big blank wall her tears run down racing to hit the floor oh we can keep it together and we'll keep on trying cuz we're here for laughing we're not here for crying and now we're not orphans anymore baby you're alway in my head and every night we'll go to bed she standing in the kitchen pacing back and forth he's been gone all night again like a hundred times before he's keeping a date with his demons and every single night it's always the same til he comes crashing down the hall with his eyes rolled up into his brain oh we can keep it together and we'll keep on trying cuz we're here for living we're not here for dying and now we're not orphans anymore baby you're alway in my head and every night we'll go to bed every night we'll go to bed tonight, come on, let's go to bed

transhuman 03:33
the new sound is going around and i’m in the crowd watch the resident girl reshaping the world with a plundered growl am i all washed up am i choking on dust obscured in a backwater town while the new sound keeps going around driving me underground   there’s only one way to feel it and that’s with all of your heart you can’t buy you can’t steal it only try only bend only struggle for your art   stockholm’s a bust trying to catch up to the good old amerikan way i got a tight first, i got a broken wrist on this, a sorrowful day i’m an old girl this is the old world skint in a mediaeval town while the new sound keeps going around driving me further underground   there’s only one law to live by and that is the rule of your heart do all you can just to get by while you cry while you bleed while you suffer for your art   transhumanist think-tank together can’t keep a big man down gonna control the stars conquer the weather can’t push progress around all your dreams of achievement lull you to sleep in the corner of some dim room and that's where you all sit watching your silver ships piercing the orb of the moon   the sun on my face your hand on my skin all the love that it takes to become transhuman the new sound the new sound the new sound

oh my wretched tears of sad misgiving over all the dirty little deeds that need forgiving how could you do that to us you know we tried so hard but it's gonna take much more than you've got to break the purest heart because i, i'm gonna fight you i'm gonna rise to the occasion because i, i've got he right to and i'm gonna fight you you this dead city is mine he built that scaffolding from alley wood and nail then he built it up real big so he could tell the people how he feels chem trails criss cross the sky existing on stalks and seed not living above the law but underneath because i, i'm gonna fight you i'm gonna rise to the occasion because i, i've got he right to and i'm gonna fight you you this dead city is mine holding on to all the little tiny pieces keep it stuck up together with wet paint and body greases this city may be dying but this city, this city is mine and in my city baby expression is not a crime because i, i'm gonna fight you i'm gonna rise to the occasion because i, i've got he right to and i'm gonna fight you you this dead city is mine

oh he's drunk again he's all punk rock again now he's running with the scissors got his hair cut off now he's falling down the stairs again there's a maze of lines carved along his arms now he's down in the alley with his clothes half off showing all the girls his charms he can't help himself he just hurts himself it's all running away can't get over the pain of his childhood so he's got something to prove one of the walking wounded what do you do when you've tried everything that you could oh the moon is high it's an all seeing eye watching over this colonial town as the hard rain is coming down oh it falls in sheets turns to ice as it hits the streets and though he got no shirt rolling down these rolling hills aw, it don;t really hurt now he's awake again in a hospital room and when he tears at the bandages all underneath the scars are in fresh bloom so he curses the nurses out as he takes the elevator down weaving barefoot through the traffic in an open backed dress running all the way downtown he can't help himself he just hurts himself it's all running away can't get over the pain of his childhood so he's got something to prove one of the walking wounded what do you do when you've tried everything that you could now he's drunk again he's all punk rock again

flipside 03:06
hey flip there's nothing wrong, nothing wrong with it yeah we're all on a sinking ship going down down down and i'm afraid i'll dream of you i know that if i do everything will all be true what they're saying about you oh without you i'd be standing alone in the dark hey flip how many shows, how many trips yeah you light the way you guide the star it's a tried and true tradition and all those young upstarts i overheard what they said and i don't have to forgive them because i know they know what they did hey flip they're playing square ball and jump the ramp out in front of your house i walk by every day when i call the kids in from your street where they're playing and at night they keep a light inside it's reflecting off the back of my eye hey flip i'm gonna, i'm gonna get a grip while you light the way you guide the star get yourself a good place at the spirit bar while i'm small, getting smaller in this this tiny town yeah, we're all on a sinking ship and we're all going down

she's standing on the periphery she's wearing her little blue shows her eyes are dark she's standing there the girl that was made for you she listened to her radio she listened for your voice so open wide so not afraid to show like a song in a world of noise but he said you can't have you can't have you can't have you can't have me you can't have me we take you there and it's summer the ground is burnt like a desert way down, down oh so far down the sky goes on forever and i heard goodbye son goodbye son i can't go on i can't go on without you you're everywhere i go and you're nowhere can you, can you still me when i return into the ether will you be there to meet me will you be there to meet me

where did you come from how far away how did you find me in this lonely place on my island turning in space you said you found me because my light shone like a beacon in the black of the night and from two hundred million light years away you came, how many moons love how many year i have waited in vain love for you to appear along every horizon on the curve of the night i sit by my window and i scan the skies looking for you where did you come from how far away how did you find me in this lonely place on my island turning in space
